Heart Rate Variability (HRV) is the variation of the intervals between your heart beats, which you can't measure without also measuring your heart rate (HR). Because these variations are in the tens of milliseconds, HRV requires more accurate measurements, which can be done with ECG (e.g. with Aidlab).
