Performing ECG analysis

Updated onJune 25, 2026

With Aidlab, you can record ECG data to review the electrical activity of your heart.

Aidlab continuously monitors ECG in the background whenever you wear it. The signal is automatically filtered, and low-quality segments caused by intense movement or excessive noise are discarded. ECG analysis works only at rest, so it does not work during movement, during workouts, or for a short period after training.

To view your ECG data

  1. Open the Aidlab app and log in to your account.

  2. Pair with your Aidlab if you haven't already.

  3. Go to the Dashboard tab and tap the button in the top-right corner.

  4. Add the Electrocardiogram component to your dashboard.

Understanding ECG with Aidlab

ECG (or EKG) measures the electrical signals that control your heartbeats. Aidlab records these signals and presents them as a graph, which can help review heart rhythm patterns.

ECG is also the basis for several other Aidlab metrics. We use it to calculate heart rate, RR intervals, and Heart Rate Variability (HRV). This makes one signal useful for understanding heart rhythm, body load, recovery, and response to training.

Aidlab currently classifies heartbeats into:

  • Normal beats
  • Premature ventricular contractions
  • Premature or ectopic supraventricular beats
  • Bundle branch block beats
  • Other beats (unclassified or noise)

It also classifies heart rhythms as:

  • Normal sinus rhythm
  • Atrial fibrillation
  • Atrial flutter
  • Ventricular tachycardia
  • Supraventricular tachycardia

Important: Aidlab is not a medical device. The rhythm classifications and findings are informational only and must be reviewed and interpreted by a qualified healthcare professional.

What an ECG can reveal

An ECG can show:

  • If your heart is beating at a normal rate and rhythm
  • Signs of arrhythmias
  • Electrical abnormalities that could suggest heart disease

However, an ECG taken with Aidlab is a screening tool and should not replace a professional medical evaluation.

Important information

  • The ECG analysis algorithm works only at rest. It does not work during movement, during training, or for a short period after training.
  • Aidlab does not detect heart attacks and is not a medical device. If you experience chest pain, pressure, shortness of breath, or symptoms of a heart attack, call emergency services immediately.
  • Always consult your doctor before making changes to your medications or treatment plan.
  • ECG analysis data retention: 30 days. Your ECG analysis data and events are automatically retained for 30 days to ensure optimal performance and storage management.
